I've been to Ghostgate and was trying to get my hands on some glass armor...
theres one room with two guys in it, decked out in glass gear.. so i close
the door behind me and i whoop their butts... took a while but i did it. Now
the 3 people in the room outside have crowed at the door trying to attack
and i can;t get out since the door won't open... and i can't attack them
since they're on the other side. I've since reverted to a previous save..
since there seems to be no way to get out of that room at that point.

I plan to go back, but i'm wondering what sort of stuff i could do to keep
myself from being locked in the room?

I'm a level 15 Breton Warrior right now... Oh, and i'm playing the Xbox
version, so theres no way I can run any sort of mods

Normally I would recommend the ra command but since you don't have the
option of counsol I would use either of the intervention spells or
recall to teleport out of there.

Sounds like they plan to starve you out. I can't blame them, since you
viciously killed one of their fellow Bouyant Armigers.

In addition to this, i've wondered about the following scenerario...
Yesterday when i tried this i managed to steal the glass dagger with 10
second paralize and I got caught, but i managed to escape from that
particular room. When i talked to a guard at Ghostgate he told me that there
was a warrant for my death due to the crime i committed and immediately
started casting spells and stuff on me... so i died. I probably should have
just ran straight out of ghostgate.

Will the deathwarrant follow me around? like if i go back to Balmora will
they all want to kill me? Is there a way i can get my head off the chopping
block by paying someone off or paying a fine somewhere?

I haven't had a chance to try it yet since i'm writing this from work right
now.. but i'll give it a shot when i get home.

Well, you don't get death warrants just for stealing a dagger. Have you
killed more people in an unprovoked manner? Initially you just get a bounty
for killing a few people, but then they want to see you dead...

And yes, it will follow you around unless you revert to a save before you
committed whatever foul deed it was. You could try to talk to certain people
in the thieves' guild though; I think Sugar-Lips Habasi in the Balmora
corner club can do it, or at least someone in there should be able to make
it go away.

Also, you can BUY glass armor in Ghostgate you know, or steal it off the
shelves in there, though your sneak ability must be rather high because shop
owners are much better lookouts than many guards, enemies and bandits in
bandit caves... LOL!

You can also - if you are unscrupolous - taunt people into attacking you and
then you "defend" yourself against them and loot their corpse of whatever
you desire, though your speechcraft must be high enough to do it. Some
people are rediculously difficult to taunt. You could bribe them back to
liking you and try again, and when you finally do wax them you simply take
your gold back again. It is unlikely your level 15 char could do it.

Just hang in there until you can get glass armor honorably, okay? :) Go to
some daedric shrines, load up on as many ebony and daedric weapons as you
can carry, then trade them in for the glass stuff. You'll also gain lots of
fighting experience this way.

Btw, if you wanna train Marksman skill, don't shoot arrows. Chuck darts or
throwing stars or other missile weapons, that is much MUCH faster. :)

Always join thieves guild so you can pay to have your sins forgiven. you
don't have to do any work for them. always carry a recall amulet and warp
when you are in dire straits or loaded with booty.
later on buy recall spell and practise it walking round your home location
until you can depend on it or use it everytime you can at the end of a quest

Don't attack the guy. Taunt him into attacking YOU. Then nobody will
try to join in the fight.

Or buy the damn armour, or find it - it can be found piecemeal in
different places.

If you find a daedric weapon, *swap* it at the merchant for the glass
armour - one daedric weapon will buy several bits of glass from the
merchant who sells it in Ghostgate.

My favorite trick once I get the Enrage Humanoid spell is to custom
make an Enrage Humanoid 100 points spell - mine only costs 30 spell
points and between Taunting and castling the spell I can make pretty
much anyone attack me.

I'm sure I don't need to explain further the uses you could put these
things to in your situation.

[I was bored the other day and drank enough Fortify Intelligence
potions to bring my intelligence to 18000+ (no that is not a typo) and
settled down to making potions. How does "Fortify Strength 992 points
for 2958 seconds" sound? (I did something for Fortify Speed like that
but that made the game totally unplayable) or "Restore Health 210 for
50 seconds"? I don't remember what I made in Levitate but it was > 50
for 300 seconds or something equally silly - nearly as good as
Mark/Recall.]

Critical to the whole strategy was getting enough cash to bring it
off. It's the old 'load up the alchemist with reagents' trick which
has been outlined previously. In an earlier session I even loaded up
our favorite cat-lady in the Balmora Mage Guild to get her quantities
up to 100 of each reagent which she sells.
Anyhow, for the fortify intelligence your source is the Imperial Cult
in Sadrith Mora. For the Levitate and Fortify Strength your source is
the Alchemist in Balmora. (At this point the game is making me REALLY
sorry I stole that diamond early on for the Thieves Guild) Build them
up till they are able to sell you obscene numbers at one time.
Then when you have all the reagents together you make 10 Fortify
Intelligence potions, drink them, make 10 more (which will be more
effective since you're more intelligent) and repeat the last 2 steps
until you get intelligence to something silly (in my case it was 18000
but I had fortify intelligence potions when I was done that I
calculated would take my intelligence to 100000+ - no fooling I had an
intelligence 18000 with 100+ potions which added 900 ea. to my
intelligence in my inventory - and only then make the potions which
have the other nice effects like fortify strength and levitate.
have to wonder, do these potions last long enough to do all that???

Yep - the low level potions last 15-60 seconds, the mediums roughly
45-240 seconds and the big ones up to 2500 seconds. RIght now I've got
Fortify Strength potions that take my strength up to 1000 and last for
2500 seconds - and I've got nearly a 100 of them.

For me the main effect is that I am picking up EVERYTHING on the idea
that I'll eventually get back to Creeper eventually. I'm no longer
selling potions for cash since the mega-potions I describe sell for
roughly 2500 gold each. I've got so much stuff stashed at Caius' place
that when I drop things they disappear - and a couple of tests show
the 'disappeared' stuff doesn't come back so I'm now using a couple of
other safe spots like the bunk beds in the Balmora Mages guild. Just
for amusement I've slept on a couple of these beds (some with 20+
swords on them) for up to 14 hours each apparently to no ill effect!

So far, I've used only the courtyard at the temple in Ald Ruhn. It was
central to most things, and Tribunal/Bloodmoon wasn't out yet. I have
to wade through stuff now to get to the temple door :) I'd need at
least a football field to lay everything out neat and organized like it
started out to be! It would also be more enjoyable if the stash were
somewhere there were no dust or blight storms. Ald Ruhn has em all the
time. I think I'll move it all to a nice stretch of clear ground.

You could always use the temple fence mod and sell it off you know... :) I
tend to not pick stuff up anymore, though after enchanting some of my
clothes and armor with constant effect fortify strength spells, I guess I
will start loading up on daedric weapons again.

What is the heaviest weapon in the game anyway? Daedric warhammer weighs
like 90...whatever. Pounds? CAN'T be pounds, that would be rediculous, you'd
topple over swinging a weapon like that. :) I guess one pretty much HAS to
enchant one's armor and clothes with strength if one equips full daedric
with such a weapon, it's so blasted heavy!

I was a bit disappointed the daedric longsword and longbow holds such low
enchantment values. I really wanted absorb health spell on them, hehe, but
no can do. Ack! I guess I'll put more fortify strength on the sword and
agility on the bow once I get back to my house in Balmora and grab some of
the grand soul gems I stashed there that are full of golden saints and
ascended sleepers. I hope the dai-katana can hold a nice drain health spell,
though I'll lose the use of my shield of course...

Geez, lol! You can't use more than one weapon/piece of armor at a time
anyway, what do you need all that stuff for? Heheh! I don't even want to
think of the framerate chug you must have with all that stuff on screen AND
the blight storms too... OMG!

I used to stash stuff at the arrow woman in Vivec last time I played MW. She
bought some stuff and has a decent amount of cash to barter with.

With Tribunal installed, I have another 10K buyer, but this one haggles
:) Mudcrab doesn't.
Why do I have it? Because I earned it :) When the area first loads
up, the framerate is like 2.
Then, things get loaded up and settled down, varies from 17 to 42. A
lot of the stash is named items. Quite an assortment in that part. I
don't know what to do with it all. So I just store it for now. Well,
I've a king to kill :)
Later!

4 guys? I would imagine so, yes, though with the amount of real and
fortified strength I got, it'd only require about 1.35 of me. :) I think the
warhammer is the heaviest "real" weapon at 96 - I think -
pounds/whatever/game units.

Too bad I sold some daedric armor stuff to people that equipped and now
won't let me buy it back (that's so stupid). Don't think I can assemble a
full set now... :( Are there any more items of daedric in the expansions, or
do I have to cheat with the console?

I know the item you mean. Interesting - that gives me one more thing

me the ability to carry up to 5300. Right now I pick up nearly

You meant to write "Glass Armot and Weapons EASY WAY if you're a deranged
murderer and lunatic!!!" in the subject, didn't you? Or maybe that didn't
fit in the space available? ;)

There's no need to murder anyone and then pay off debt, when you can just
taunt people into attacking you. Anyway, you'll find glass armor eventually
the real way sooner or later. Trade the various pieces in for a couple
daedric weapons, that's not too difficult...

I actually sold the tower shield I stole from the Hlaalu vaults in Vivec and
equipped another that I got off a Golden Saint, though I'm still keeping the
xbow I also found there. :)

I am using throwing knives, darts and stars. They fire as fast
as a crossbow, has the same range and come with some
useful spells, if you want them. But a simple steel star or knife
is very effective, if your marksman skill is 60+

I've found these weapons to be largely ineffective compared to a good
crossbow. Also, they're harder to aim.

However, there's probably nothing more hilarious in Morrowind than having a
humanoid enemy toss the throwing stars/knives you just sunk into his flesh
back at you. I just laughed when I realized what was happening!

Weirdness!

However, there's probably nothing more hilarious in Morrowind than having a
humanoid enemy toss the throwing stars/knives you just sunk into his flesh
back at you. I just laughed when I realized what was happening!
But the darts in Tribunal are the most powerful weapons in the game.
One group does around 70 points each without magic and are renewable.
Another group can do over 1,000 points each, but they are only available
once.

Ah, I see! Cool, must find them then. :) I haven't been to Mournhold at all
yet, I decided to do the main quest first.

Are you talking about the Black Dart gang?

I'm in the middle of Tribunal right now and after getting killed the
first time I entered their area, I used my amulet of Shadows and an
invisibility potion and found them VERY easy to kill. (I expected the
invisibility to last only until I got close enough to hit 'em with my
spear) Perhaps one or two blows each and then grab the nice treasure!

If you speak with Veriner's Ghost, he will tell you about
an easy way to kill the entire Black Dart gang at no risk
to yourself. ;-)

Ironically I nearly drowned while trying to loot their bodies.

I've killed the Dark Brotherhood and all the goblins twice without
meeting this gang or the ghost. What am I doing wrong?

Is there a secret handshake I'm not privy to?

They're in a different area. You can get an initial lead in the
Bazaar sewers.

There's an NPC in the sewers near where you go in from
the Great Bazaar who tells you about Veriner and the
gang. Perhaps that conversation triggers the ghost's
appearance.

The Black Dart gang is in the area under the Temple and
Veriner's Ghost is just outside of their location. They
killed him and he wants his revenge. ;-)

I couldn't find the method he was talking about until after I had
killed the entire gang. I was searching thoroughly I thought, until
it was staring me in face and I had to slap myself for being stupid.

Amulet of shadows is normally enough for npcs to not see you if you are
trying to talk to them or in a fight with them. Unless you get them into
a corner and force them to fight, they will normally run away.

The Black Dart Gang definately runs away. They're trying to get far
enough away to throw darts at you without being hit. That alone makes
the fights more annoying than normal, since it only takes a couple of
swings to take them out.

You definitely do not want to fight them. Not only will they waste
their darts, but if they do manage to hit you are dead, no chance to
counter the relatively slow poison or damage spell they use.

But I _was_ hit, several times. And lived. I saw green, which
implied that some spell effect must have gone off too. I do suspect
that they used the direct damage darts more than the magic ones
though.

xbow?
CROSSbow, old man! ;)
I have a Daedric Longbow...is it one of these?
I had two or three of those, but sold off the other ones. They're
nice, got one from a daedric shrine, the other two from golden
saints. Too bad they're so darned HEAVY, heh heh! And also, why
aren't there any daedric shortbows or such? Or xbows??? :) That
would RULE. They fire so fast...! :)
they do fire quick :) That and the high hitpoints are why I keep it
equipped. I am on the lookout for a Glass bow and also an Ebony
Bow. Hey, there are Daedric, Glass and Ebony arrows...sooooo...
McG.
I am using throwing knives, darts and stars. They fire as fast
as a crossbow, has the same range and come with some
useful spells, if you want them. But a simple steel star or knife
is very effective, if your marksman skill is 60+

Marksman is 100 now. I never trained it, I did this one the hard way
and it was very satisfying too. I haven't tried the stars but have
tried darts. Will locate a bunch of stars and give em a whirl :)

I did too, using only bow and xbow, but it is much MUCH faster to train
using stars. Since each star does less damage than a fully drawn arrow or
bolt and you can throw them much faster, you gain levels crazy fast! :) I
only discovered this very very late in the game. WIll definitely use for my
next char.

Not that he didn't know how or would be unable to....it's only now
