Missing Package

Hi, I started playing Morrowind about 2 weeks ago, haven't really done much
just all the local stuff to sedya neen and killed an assassin to get some
cool gear, I finally decided to walk over to Balmora killing a few
indigenous beasties along the way only to find that when I get to Balmora
the guy I'm supposed to meet ask for a package, I know I had it but I don't
now and he won't talk to me unless I give him this package, I have back
tracked all my steps checking any containers, chests, barrels, sacks etc
that I come across just in case I put it in one but so far have not found
it, I have also checked all the stores in case I sold it but none of the
stores I have visited it have it. I haven't actually covered much ground so
the search was not too extensive and I have only been to the store in
Balmora and Sedya Neen, I did get caught stealing and my back pack was
fleeced of all non legitimate equipment so I'm wondering if it was removed
at one of these times.

Is there any way I can get this with out restarting the game as I have done
a lot of running, jumping swimming, sneaking and shooting things with arrows
to get my level up a little, I'm now on level 9 and it has taken me two
weeks to do this so I'm really not looking forward to doing it all again.

If anyone can help I would be eternally grateful.

You have to go back to Seyda Neen and talk to the Imperial Guard Captain
dude in the second building. Ask him about your "duties". He'll give
you a package.

How did you find out about Caius without doing that?

I did that and got the package, now I don't have it and can't find it, I
never dropped it as I'm a hoarders and sell everything and I have checked
both the stores I have visited. I think it may have been removed from my
inventory or I put it somewhere.

How did you find out about Caius without doing that?

if you are reading this you must have accidently sold it to Arille at the
trade house in seyda neen. He is the only person there you can sell to. Or
you need to go back to the custom house and retrace all the rooms and speak
to everybody inside.

The ITEMNAME parameter for Cauis's package is "bk_a1_1_caiuspackage" - you
can glean this from the Construction Set. I haven;t tried this but have a
go, it should work for you.

Open the Console and type "TFH" for Toggle Full Help.
If you now look at the Infos of your Items, you can see a new Info about the
Owner.
If you pay a Bounty, the Guard will remove all Items with a Owner (you are
"Player").
He remove Items too, you have buy by a Trader or found by a Enemy.
Drop all Items before you pay a Bounty, to hold your Items.

If you want the Package back, do this:

- Troggle in the 3th-Person-View (Tab)
- Open the Console (Button under Esc)
- Mark yourself
- Type >additem "bk_a1_1_caiuspackage" 1<

Now you have the Package back.
