Hello,

I've found a goblin totem staff worth 7760 gold. Should i sell or keep
that item? And when i want to sell it, where can i get the best price
for it. No merchant has that much cash.

There is at least one quest involving goblin totems and you can put the
totems in opposing clans caves to get them to make war on each other :)

Yeah, at lower levels it's great. I got one at 2nd or 3rd level, and I was
a god with it. Not so much at higher ones. (I believe this is one of the
few non-leveled loot items)

Travelling away from the Imperial City on the Yellow Road where it
crosses the first river you should see a camp called Crestbridge. Have a
chat with them to get you started...

Hang onto it if you are at an early point in the game (less than level 10).
It is a very powerful weapon and you will be glad you had. But it is also
an enchanted weapon, and will need to be refilled after a while. So untill
you learn how to refill it, use it only when necessary.

You're not talking about the staff that you find in the starter dungeon
after killing the goblin shaman down there, are you? That thing only does 5
points of damage per blast, and has enough charges for something like 12
blasts...

The one you get at the beginning prison break is the goblin shaman
staff. These are goblin totem staffs, and are more powerful. I found
two. Didn't know they had a quest attached, though.

This is a larger game than if first appears. :-)

Definitely, I'm 60 hours in on my current character, who is only 11th
level (balanced major skills to avoid rapid levelling), has completed 42
quests/dungeons with 11 active at the moment, is a member of Fighters,
Mages, Thieves, Dark Brotherhood and Arena 'factions', has explored
about 30% of the map locations on foot, and hasn't even been to Weynon
Priory to kick off the Main Quest yet !

Then you can answer the question I've been having.

"If you don't actually meet with brother Jaffre at Weynon Priory and give
him the amulet of kings, will Kvatch be burning and under-seige if you go
there?"

I was actually considering starting a new character just to travel to Kvatch
and see if an Oblivion gate is up at the beginning of the game or does that
only happen after you talk to brother Jaffre. I look forward to having an
answer.

Yes, I went up there on the way to do a guild quest near Anvil and
Kvatch is already burning.

The only difference I can see with going to Kvatch without visiting
Jauffre first is that as you don't know about Martin yet you will not
get any of the specific dialogue options for Martin or the quest update
to take him back to Jauffre if you rescue the people holed up in the
church (you will be told to go and get him from the refugee camp when
you do finally talk to Jauffre and get all the dialog then, so you don't
miss out).

After that side-step in time I have re-loaded and am off to finish off
my guild quests without the distraction of Oblivion gates :)

bugger, I've been trying to hunt them. where did you find it?

if you take one clans totem and place it in another clans cave, you cause an
all out war between the 2 clans. if you place all totems in one place
they'll journey from the ends of the earth to get them back and fight
opposing clans who have it.

oblivions version of capture the flag.

I'm not sure but I think it was the Plundered Mine located southeast of
Bruma. I was doing the main quest but that mine crossed my path and I
just checked it out (and was lucky).
