Stuck in main quest (real soon)
(too old to reply)

Here's what my quest log says:

"Weynon Priory"
"I should escort Martin and Jauffre to Cloud Ruler Temple"

Fine, I brought them there and found out that I "needed a key" to enter
the temple. So I left the two guys and the main quest behind, got 20
more levels, became archmage and grand champion, found a few spell
mechanics loopholes that grant me penultimate power, that sort of
things, so I say to myself, "let's continue to the cloud ruler temple
with the two freaks"

"need a key".

What the hell did I miss?

Did you ride the horse? You should come back to the Priory from Kvatch with
Martin, and find it under attack from some cultists. Then you whack them and
you three decided to leave for the temple on horseback.

Once you get them, you automatically dismount and the door swings open. At
least that's how it worked for me.

I got the horse the first time I went to the priory. Prior Maboril's
horse that was.

We went on horseback up there. At some point I was sick of them lagging
behind and decided to rush through the wilderness. They followed.

I got there, then waited for them. They arrived in front of Cloud Ruler
Temple too on horseback (some 50 seconds later, the pathing of the AI
is really crappy), but nothing happened. At that point I hadn't freed
Kvatch completely, just the chapel. Thinking I needed to complete the
Battle of Qvatch before the temple would open, I told them to wait in
the snow and went on to do my business (ie: play 60 hours or so).

When I came back, they were still there "let's continue to the cloud
ruler temple". Basically nothing has changed since I started the game,
except that the prior's horse is long dead (good riddance, considering
I run faster than the horse), and I noticed that Jauffre is now on
foot, and doesn't follow martin anymore.

In other words, I'm good to shelve the game.

There is no key, and you can't open it. The door is scripted to open
only when Jauffre approaches it(Martin doesn't count), and if he's no
longer following you I don't know how to start him again. Try talking to
him again, or standing by the door and waiting for a bit.

I have, of course, grayed out all subjects at 100 inclination with
Jauffre, scrolled down, etc.

I'll try to dedicate a command/fear spell to force him around. If all
else fails, I'll try to punch him to the door, or setup a grip mode and
telethrow him through it.

Are you sure there are no other doors you can use? I remember in one
place there was a door I couldn't use, but that wasn't the door I was
supposed to use :)
